Dash's Lego Birthday Party

Legos were a big part of our life when Dash was young, then he sort of outgrew them, along with Thomas the Tank Engine and Goosebumps books.  Then Legos came out with computer games -- Lego Harry Potter, Lego Indiana Jones, and Lego Pirates of the Caribbean, and an online game called Lego Universe.  When Dash discovered the Legos store in Rockefeller Center, he was hooked again. So when I asked what theme he wanted for his 12th birthday party, Legos won hands down!

The boys watched a Legos movie we rented from Netflix, played a Lego/Wii game, and ate home made pizza for lunch.

Dash and his friends declared the party a rousing success!

PS:  Only one cup of red punch spilled on the carpet, so all-in-all, not a bad day.

A few days before the party,  Dash helped me mold Lego bricks out of colored chocolate.
Later, we put a few in ziploc bags for the guests to take home.

We used our miniature loaf pan to bake rectangular cupcakes, then Kate helped
me ice them in different Lego colors, to look like Lego bricks.

Decorations included our Lego Harry Potter board game.
